F-Spot Sidebar Editors + Histogram

Just in: The new sidebar editors in F-Spot have landed. Apart from the color tool and some cosmetic changes, it’s mostly finished.

Also: F-Spot now features a histogram in the sidebar.

Sidebar + Histogram

That is all.

PS: F-Spot already had the histogram. It was just very well hidden.

What is the Window-manager theme in that shot?

    Nice feature!

Can you point me to your GTK/metacity theme? I’ve been trying to make a yellow colored them but never got it like it is in your screenshot.

For the controls: Clearlooks, the window border is IndustrialTango and the selected items color is set to #FFBF25. Enjoy!

I really liked the previous layout better, where the edit buttons where at the bottom of the window. I can’t understand how you find the edit functions to be easier to find, if one first has to choose “Edit” from that drop down thing in the sidebar and there is absolutely no hint that they are hiding there. Also the buttons look a bit out of place. I have to admit though, that I had not yet the chance to try it, so perhaps my critics are out of place as well. ;-)
I wonder what happens if you resize the sidebar to be wider or smaller?

Yes, you should have tried it. The editing tools appear automatically when you enter single image view, so you have to try really hard to miss them.

It also scales nicely when you resize the sidebar (offcourse, making it 10px wide is a bit unreasonable).

Try it! Then let us know what you think. Judging just from the screenshot, without really trying it and giving it a chance to shine is a bit unfair. You’ll probably love it once you give it a shot.

I have lost the sidebar & the menu at the top, how do I get them back please?
