If you’ve been trying to develop a Canon EOS 450D RAW file using ufraw on the latest Ubuntu release, you might have run into something like this:

Pink, sweet!
While we could wait until this lands through the new dcraw (bug opened), some of us want to develop pictures now.
For those, I’ve built a patched ufraw. It’s retrievable through my Ubuntu PPA. Enjoy!

Thanks man! Got my 450D a few days ago and was really pissed ’cause i couldn’t export my images in a proper way. This helped a lot!
Thanks man! My husband bought an XSi today too so I already downloaded your DEB files to update my UFRaw on Ubuntu. :)
BTW, I just tried your version of UFRaw 0.13 with our XSi 450D and it it always crashes when saving to another type of image. I tried exporting 16bit TIFF and PPM, and both crash UFRaw.
Eugenia: that’s not good. I hadn’t tested that (my main concern was export to JPEG). This was just a quick workaround to get atleast some work done.
Let’s hope the newer ufraw (based on the most recent dcraw) appears soon.
So what files are we supposed to download? All of them?
Only ufraw is needed.
Is this compatible with the MAC version?
This is an Ubuntu package, so I doubt it. It should be fixed for everyone when the new ufraw is released though.
Woohoo! It definately works. Very thanks!
Thought I still have kinda doggy workflow. I look through images with gtkrawgallery (because its a ton faster than rawstudio or rawtherapee) and then right click to open with gimp’s dcraw plugin. It’s slow and complex compared to bridge + adobe camera plugin on osx… But the direction is right and this is relatively fine as I’m on linux.
Didnt work with 500D ><
@Sea Jackal: Probably needs fixing too for the increased resolution in the 500D. Usually doesn’t take long. How is the 500D as a camera?
UFRaw CVS already works fine with the 500D, I have Ubuntu packages available:
